Community Involvement

Hydrocephalus Association

The Hydrocephalus Association was established in 1983 and has made tremendous strides in the healthcare and scientific world to finding an end to this condition. Hydrocephalus is defined by an abnormal, excessive accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain. 2 out of every 1000 babies is affected by this condition. There is no known cure yet, however, the Hydrocephalus Association is actively searching for this cure. This association is able to provide support to the communities and families affected by this mysterious condition. The general population is largely unaware of such a prevalent condition and the association is working diligently to bring knowledge to the community.  By focusing on the research and discovering the causes of hydrocephalus, this association has given hope to families who can now begin to see new treatment options that have opened the possibility of a life without a shunt and prevention of hydrocephalus. Luke and his team are proud supporters of this Association and know that through this continued awareness, there will be a future with no hydrocephalus.
